While the Fall/Spring intense, action-packed, fast paced, gruelingly competitive NFL season is long over for many Speech and Debate members, and as summer temperatures continue to climb into the mid 120's, an operation is being undertaken by a new Shorewood S&D administration, that very well may determine the destiny... of a select few people's Saturdays next year.

Already in the works is a joint Shorewood, Shorecrest NFL team, a truly historic development, unseen since the Shoreline rivals developed opposite cultures and social structures some two and a half decades ago, divided along the Fifth Interstate Highway.

The announcement comes at the conclusion of a comparably drab Shorewood Speech and Debate season, during which SW managed to fail to accomplish two important feats, nearly every team in the region succeeded in; the first being qualifying for the state tournament; the second, and certainly of greater severity, was the decision made NOT TO ATTEND the Rogers High School Invitational Meet [the backlashes of which are still being felt today].

All sorrows aside though, this team still has another flight left for it to fulfill before this debater at least, is willing to settle for the ineloquence of 2001-02.  Not to worry though, for the future always awaits us, and no matter how hard we may try to catch up with tomorrow, or move backward to yesterday, instead of concentrating on yesterday's tomorrow, all Shorewood adversaries are inherently flawed and meek and not worth our time... and that's my last voting issue for the year.  Hi-ah!
